The 26th edition of the renowned Hasselt Diamond Workshop 2022 – SBDD XXVI will take place next week in Hasselt, Belgium. In recent years, the workshop has become one of the most important international conferences for diamond research and technology. CiS Research Institute will participate in this conference with three contributions in the fields of quantum sensing and material analysis of NV color centers in diamond, as well as chemical passivation based on synthetic diamond coating.
In his paper “Compact all-optical quantum sensor device based on NV centers in Diamond”, Mario Bähr will present a very compact emitter-receiver assembly using NV-containing diamond as a quantum sensing element suitable for the detection of small magnetic fields (see figure).
The poster contribution “Approaches for SIMS measurements on 14N and 15N doped diamonds” presents first measurement results from the recently commissioned SIMS facility within CiS Analytik Kompetenzzentrum (CAK) with respect to nitrogen concentrations and depth profiles measured in diamond. These values are indispensable as quality indicators for the realization of NV color centers in diamond.
How a local diamond layer based on a two-step process of inkjet and low-temperature CVD diamond growth was successfully processed on pressure sensors is explained in the poster contribution “Pressure sensor devices featuring a chemical passivation made of a locally synthesized diamond layer”. This process eliminates the need for structuring measures of the diamond layer.
