Thermopiles with carbon nanotube absorber
German title: | Thermopiles mit Absorber aus Kohlenstoffnanoröhren
Acronym: | CNT-IR-TP | |
Duration: | 1st May 2023 - 31st October 2025
Description: | The aim of the project is to develop thermopiles with absorbers based on a carbon nanotube layer. For this purpose, carbon nanotubes are to be evaluated and applied that can be integrated into the production of thermopiles in one or more process steps that are as cost-effective as possible and at the same time lead to a significant increase in absorption in the long-wave spectral range (6µm and longer wavelengths). This is to be done with the thinnest possible layer of carbon nanotubes. This is also located only in the center of the membrane. This way, the thermopile will not be more inert than its counterpart without an additional absorbing layer. Layers that are used in emitters as an emission-enhancing layer can also be used in the same or similar design on thermopiles for absorption enhancement. |
