| Description: | Standard MEMS IR emitters have a low surface emissivity of sometimes less than 40%. In this R&D project, the emissivity in the center of the emitter membrane is to be increased to 80%. This could increase the radiant intensity to the point of being equivalent to high performance IR emitters. The emitters are to be prefabricated with a standard technology and receive the significant functional improvement in a backend coating process. | |
