High-resolution modular spectro-polarimeter using advanced semiconductor processes
German title: | Hochauflösendes modulares Spektro-Polarimeter durch Einsatz moderner Halbleiterprozesse
Acronym: | SpektroPol | |
Duration: | 1st September 2016 - 28th February 2018
Description: | The aim of the project was to develop an innovative polarimeter that meets the increasing market needs for more stable, faster and more accurate measurements of optically active substances. A modular polarimeter with two illumination and two detector modules was developed: A) one with an optimized high short-term stability at one wavelength and B) a spectrometer detector module with a significant increase in the number of wavelengths (64 and 128, respectively). In both variants, the measurement time for the entire measurement cycle has been reduced and is less than 10 seconds. Compared to existing polarimeters on the market, the new SpektroPol will enable measurements to be performed more stably, accurately and quickly in the future thanks to its high short-term stability, a large number of wavelengths and the short measurement time. This means that the increasing demand in analytics for quantification of optically active substances, in particular the enantiomeric purity of pharmaceuticals, can be met.
