New refractive index sensor
German title: | Neuer Brechzahlsensor
Acronym: | NBZ | |
Duration: | 1st September 2022 - 28th February 2025
Description: | The aim is to simulate and prototype a refractive index sensor based on the correlation of speckle patterns caused by diffusers made of fused silica and a liquid of known refractive index as well as a liquid of unknown refractive index. The sensor will be used to determine the water content of ethanol-water mixtures and DMSO with high accuracy. No system exists yet that does this with the desired speed (<5s) and accuracy (for DMSO <0.5 vol%).
