Already for the 8th time the CiS Research Institute located in the southeast of the city of Erfurt participates in the Long Night of Science. On 23rd June 2023 from 6:00 pm to 11:00 pm scientists and engineers of the CiS Research Institute present their research results and applications.
Among other things, one can discover the microcosm in the electron microscope, measurement technology in the nanometer range and sensor technology for the determination of vital parameters.
Various experiments for all age groups invite visitors to touch and participate. From bending horseshoes to marveling at pressure sensors in action, to a gas measuring station. At the CiS Research Institute, you can try everything.
In addition, exciting questions will be answered such as: How does a pulse oximeter work? What can a diamond do? How much does my name weigh?
These and other topics provide a small insight into nature as a model and its implementation in technology.
A guided tour of the SEM also provides a small glimpse into the fascinating world of scanning electron microscopy.
We cordially invite all visitors to see, marvel and experiment.
