In an informal atmosphere, the second After-Work-BBQ of the Forschungs- und Industriezentrum Erfurt (FIZ) e.V. took place yesterday in the early evening hours of 24th May 2023 at the research and industrial site Erfurt-Südost. This time, it was hosted by the CiS Research Institute and offered plenty of space for networking and personal exchange while enjoying cool drinks and delicious barbecue with Thuringian grilled sausages and grilled vegetables. In the context of an in-house exhibition, guests were able to gain an interesting insight into the current research and development work of the CiS Research Institute in small groups, try out sensor applications on the basis of demonstrators and discuss further with the employees afterwards. Another highlight was a guided tour through the analytics center of the research institute. A large portfolio of analysis possibilities by means of secondary ion mass spectrometry (SIMS) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) as well as different procedures in the printing laboratory were presented and clearly explained to the guests.
We are already looking forward to the next FIZ After-Work BBQ on 27th September 2023, which will be hosted by TÜV Thüringen and would like to thank FIZ e.V. for the great networking format for the research and industrial location Erfurt-Southeast.
