State Secretary for Science and Higher Education Carsten Feller and the provisional head of the “Technology Promotion” unit Robert Fetter met yesterday afternoon with the management of the CiS Research Institute at its south-east Erfurt location. In addition to the institute’s current research priorities, the possible continuation of the RTI guidelines and the promotion of the planned digitisation programme for Thuringian research institutions with close links to industry were discussed. A visit to the institute also provided an opportunity to discuss challenges for the further positioning of Erfurt as a microelectronics location in global competition.
