CiS Research Institute at the Innovation Day for Medium-Sized Businesses in Berlin

The BMWK’s Innovation Day for SMEs will take place on 23rd June 2022, at the open-air site of AiF Projekt GmbH in Berlin-Pankow. Numerous funding initiatives and programs of the BMWK will be presented and future topics such as ecological innovations, digitalization and health will be brought into special focus. The CiS Research Institute will show a demonstrator for operating force monitoring especially of bolted joints (BAVI) at booth D103

CiS Research Institute at Hannover Messe 2022

The Hannover Messe will take place next week for the first time again as a presence event at the fairgrounds in Hannover. In Hall 3 at the Thuringian joint booth H08, the CiS Research Institute will present current development results from May 30 to June 2, 2022. At the industrial fair we will show two demonstrators for the determination of the operating power of as well as for the detection of the CO2 concentration in gases by means of NDIR sensor technology

Project start ZugKraftSensor – Elastically stable tensile force sensors for belt tension monitoring

To determine belt tension, the CiS Research Institute is developing a tensile force sensor based on Si strain gauges that are integrated directly into the steel cord of the belt. The project starts on 01.02.2022 and aims at applications in the drive technology of large plants

Innovative joining technologies and growth core HIPS at the IMAPS Fall Conference

Innovative preload force sensor technology for bolted joints

In his bolt sensor lecture on October 5, 2021, Arndt Steinke will provide information on “Innovative preload force sensors for bolted connections”

BAVI – Determination of the operating force of fasteners

Based on a MEMS technology platform, a sensor module was developed that determines the preload force and the operating force as well as their change over time. The user can flexibly design a measurement cycle, thus achieving greater maintenance intervals as well as the possibility of remote diagnostics

Mikado – Long-term stable micro-macro coupling to build ultra-flat silicon strain sensors for macroscopic test specimens

As a result of advancing automation and autonomously operating machines and systems, low-cost force sensors that can be integrated into the systems are required. Preliminary tests show that silicon strain gauges joined to stainless steel with glass solder can be expected to give good results
