Project: Future-proof development environment of coating technologies for large-area substrates (ZEBS)
Project No.: 2021 WIN 0002
Thanks to the support of the state of Thuringia, the CiS Research Institute is able to invest approximately €550,000 to make its technical infrastructure future-proof and sustainable. A new cluster coating tool will enable a range of PVD technologies on large-area substrates, allow multilayer coating systems, and enable industry-oriented throughput. Coupled to a process database, continuous and consistent data acquisition, monitoring and precise control of process steps will be simplified and the implementation of Industry 4.0 standards will be advanced at the CiS Research Institute.
With this extension of the coating technologies, the CiS Research Institute improves the application and transfer quality in the field of electrical and optical sensor technology for its research and development partners, especially from the SME sector.
The funding is part of the Corona special funding program “FuE-Schub”. Under this program, the state of Thuringia supports Thuringia’s business-related research institutions with a total of five million euros for the acquisition of devices, equipment and digital infrastructures. The projects must be assignable to one of the five focal points of the Thuringian innovation strategy.
The project “Future-proof development environment of coating technologies for large-area substrates (ZEBS)” is funded by the Free State of Thuringia and the Thuringian Ministry of Economics, Science and Digital Society (TMWWDG) under the number 2021 WIN 0002.
