The CiS Research Institute invites you to discover and experiment on Friday, 8th November 8 2024. Interested visitors can also experience microsensor technology to try out during this Long Night of Science from 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM.
How is a butterfly wing constructed? What shapes do plant pollen have? How fine are the structures on microchips? On the first floor, small groups of a maximum of ten people can get answers to these questions using a scanning electron microscope (SEM), every half and full hour.
In the conference room on the 3rd floor, young and old can experiment for themselves. From bending horseshoes, weighing your own name, experiencing sensors in action to handicrafts – there is plenty on offer. Stroboscopic therapy glasses for light therapy, presented by Thuringian start-up Healyan, can help to relax and treat sleep disorders through the interplay of light and sound. For the first time, some guests will have the opportunity to sit in the cockpit of a real ultralight aircraft and try out how to accelerate, take off and land gently. Prospective students can find out more at the stands of Ilmenau University of Technology and Schmalkalden University of Applied Sciences, which we will also be hosting that evening.
You can easily reach us by tram line 3, direction Urbicher Kreuz, stop Windischholzhausen/X-FAB. We look forward to seeing you.
