The countdown to City Cycling Erfurt 2024 has begun. In the period from 12th August to 1st September, all citizens of the city of Erfurt as well as all people who work there, belong to a club or attend a (high)school can take part in the campaign. The aim is to cycle as many everyday journeys as possible in a climate-friendly way during the specified period, whether for business or pleasure. This not only keeps the body fit and healthy, but also saves tons of CO2. In addition, the Erfurt Environment and Nature Conservation Agency donates a tree for every 1,000 kilometers cycled. Last year, 581 young sessile oaks, English oaks and wild fruit trees were planted in Willroder Forst/Werningsleben Forrest.
For the fourth time, the CiS Research Institute is putting together a motivated team to cycle as many kilometers as possible for a good cause and our climate. You can register for the CiS Forschungsinstitut team directly via the invitation link. We hope to add at least 3,000 kilometers to the team account this year.
For the 15th time, the city of Erfurt is taking part in the City Cycling campaign of the Climate Alliance e.V. and hopes for a very good result in the ranking of the already registered municipalities with a population of 100K-500K. On 12th August 2024, the first tour starts at 5:00 PM from Fischmarkt in Erfurt. All kilometers cycled can be tracked with the city cycling app.
